Hello my faithful followers,
I just wanted to touch base. After having written every day for the last several months, going without writing at this blog feels strange to me. Since I left Dublin and transferred at London, I have been back in the States. I don’t have any plans in the near future for going out of the country yet I don’t want this blog to run on empty. In the past, I have strayed from writing about trips within the country (with the exception of my opening trip: Alaska for the AISES National Conference). Fortunately, I do have the AISES National Conference approaching this year at the same time as last. This time it’s at Denver. You can bet I’ll write about my experience there, assuming I go, and perhaps I’ll even seek out the first Chipotle as I attend the Conference and visit friends from the area.
Of course, I still have some pictures and entries to fill from my trip to West Africa in December and January. I have it all documented, but a lack of time, wi-fi, or both has always kept me behind from that trip. My West Africa trip was my first time in such a remote place alone. If I were to do it all over again, I would probably have invested in an Internet Key like I did in India. Then again, having separation from the Internet can be nice. But this blog isn’t just for you great followers – it’s also for my memory.
Since I have just moved from Pennsylvania back to the Cleveland area again, I hope to be adding some posts on my home state as well as the places I’ve discovered in the Cleveland area. If you’re from the area or passing through, don’t forget to check out my “green” Cleveland blog which is used to promote and share the efforts made by some businesses, restaurants, and individuals to live a less energy-dependent lifestyle. I hope to add a new page to that blog soon which includes my experiences as a country girl living in a city: how I reduce my gas use, how I eat local in a city, how I manage to keep plants, how I compost in an urban setting, etc. I also plan to go camping and play in a few hockey tournaments down south. I’ll be sure to share my discoveries and even how to find gems hidden under the rocks on your path of travel.
For those of you who want to keep on reading my postings more regularly, I have a blog full of random thoughts, angry rants, and otherwise satirical entries at my Faithless Faith page. It’s not for everyone, but I do update it more regularly and like to use it to develop a strong argument for my outlooks on several aspects of life and society. Finally, if you’re into healthful living and saving money, crafts, and other things like that which may fall outside of my Cleveland blog, my last site is Heart Smart and Penny Wise. I haven’t been updating this page as much as I would like, but I do have some new content to add. The blog started off as a way for me to keep track of the unit prices of different forms and types of food, e.g. bagged popcorn vs. kernels, and to compare the savings benefits to the health detriments caused by saving money. It was meant to steer me and others towards the optimal lifestyle between health and cheap. It’s since turned in to a site where I share my recipes, crafts, and other experiences. I hope to expand its horizons to document the neat ideas I find for my own benefit as well as for those looking for some DIY projects and/or inspiration.
Well, that’s all for now folks! Thanks again for reading my blog, look forward to some updates and new posts, and feel free to check out some of my other pages if you’re bored!
